Unannounced Redmi A1 leaks with specs render and live photo

Xiaomi seems to have a new budget Redmi phone on the way. Redmi A1, which cannot be mistaken for quite old Xiaomi Mi A1 (Mi 5x), has just been featured in several extensive leaks. But first things first – Xiaomi has just released an official teaser for the device, along with some high-quality renders that show off some nice, soft pastel colors for the phone and a leather-style finish on the back.

The teaser page also mentions a 5,000mAh battery. As for the rest of the specs, we have to turn to one of the leaks. The Redmi A1 is said to feature a 6.52-inch, 1600 x 720 pixels, 20:9, HD+ display with a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. All this, plus a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging, dual SIM and microSD card slots, a 3.5mm jack and an FM radio, will be packed into a 164.9mm x 76.75mm x 9.09mm body. 192 g.

The camera setup includes an 8MP, f/2.0 main snapper with an sf/2.2 secondary camera, presumably a depth sensor. On the front – 5MP, f/2.2 selfie. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi n, as well as Android 12.

Last but not least, we have a live photo of the device. Unfortunately, it shows off its front rather than the much more interesting leather-style back. No word on pricing yet, but we do know from Xiaomi themselves that the Redmi A1 is the first in a brand new series of Made In India Redmi smartphones and will be launched globally.
