Huawei introduced two new members of its nova s series new 10 and nova 10 Pro smart phones. The pair share similar specs including 120Hz OLED screens, Snapdragon 778G 4G chipsets and 60MP selfie cameras. Along with them, Huawei announced its own NFC tracker called Huawei Tag.
Huawei nova 10 and nova 10 Pro
Huawei nova 10 brings a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is a single cutout for the 60MP selfie camera. The nova 10 Pro boasts a larger 6.78-inch OLED panel with the same resolution and refresh rate. The Pro model also adds a second selfie camera up front – an 8MP portrait lens.
The rear camera setup on both phones is identical with a 50MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide module with f/2.2 aperture. The third sensor is a 2MP depth of field module. Both phones bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 4G with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The software front is covered by HarmonyOS 2.
The Huawei nova 10 boasts a 4,000mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging, while the nova 10 Pro packs a larger 4,500mAh cell with 100W wired charging.
Both Huawei nova 10 models come in black, silver, green and purple. The Huawei nova 10 starts at CNY 2,699 ($403) for the 128GB trim, while the 256GB model will cost CNY 2,999 ($448). The Huawei nova 10 Pro starts at CNY 3,699 ($553) for the 128GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,999 ($598) for the 256GB model. Pre-orders are already underway in China, while the official sales tip will be on July 8.
Huawei Tag is the company’s own take on a smart NFC tracker. It can only be paired with a Harmony OS 2.0 device and relies on Huawei’s “Find” network to track objects. Huawei also brings encrypted location reporting. The tracker also has a speaker that can play sounds up to 92dB while searching for your belongings.
Huawei Tag weighs only 6 grams and is only 5.6 mm thick. It is IP67 water and dust resistant and runs on a single CR2032 coin cell battery with a battery life of over a year. The Huawei Tag comes in one white color and retails for CNY 99 ($15) per unit. You can also get a four-pack for CNY 299 ($45). The open sale starts on July 30.
