iOS 16.1 brings battery percentage to all iPhones with Face ID

Since the iPhone got Face ID, it was no longer possible to include the battery percentage in the status bar because there was a notch that now took up a lot of space. Users had to download the iPhone’s control center to see what percentage of the battery was left.

In iOS 16, battery percentage was added as a feature and when enabled, it displayed the percentage directly above the battery icon in the status bar. It has been added to all iPhones with Face ID except iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 miniand iPhone 13 mini.

Several users have reported on the first iOS 16 developer beta MacRumors forums that the battery percentage feature now allows all iPhones with FaceID notches to display a number above the battery icon.
